Disney Origins

This is a map of all the Disney story origins. It shows where each story line took place. Disney clearly attempted to create stories from around the world. People adapt to what they can relate to. For example, people who live in Africa would be particularly interested in reading/seeing The Lion King, Hercules, and Tarzan. Disney tried to target these areas for viewing and sales purposes. Wouldn't you pay to go see a movie that was based/filmed in your hometown? That's exactly Disney's thought process. Their marketing goal was to increase the popularity of their product (Disney) all around the world.
